Troy Kane is an experienced capital markets and derivatives professional with expertise in market structure, strategic business development, algorithmic trading, trading platform design, and trading operations. Troy is currently the Head of Business Development for the Americas at Citadel Securities where he is responsible for managing North and South America partner relationships across equity, futures, options, and FICC products; manages US relationships with key banks and work with investment bankers, partners and industry professionals to identify potential M&A opportunities and investments; coordinates with teams across functional areas (legal, technology, trading, quantitative research, HR) to evaluate potential acquisitions and investment opportunities and identify opportunities to grow Citadel Securities business in new products, asset classes and/or geographies.
Prior to joining Citadel, Troy was Head of Strategy for Financial and OTC Products at CME Group where he was responsible for tactical coordination of the development and execution for CME’s Financial and OTC business line (Equities, Interest Rates, & FX) strategies, technology projects and key strategic initiatives which are both organic and inorganic in focus.
Troy began his career working on the trading floors of the Chicago Board of Trade at the age of 14 and has over 20 years of experience in the commodity and financial derivatives industry, with 15 of those years collectively at CME Group. Troy served as Chief Operating Officer of Eagle Seven, a privately held, globally positioned algorithmic trading firm from May 2013 to January 2016 and Global Head of Algorithmic Business Development at BGC Partners, an international inter-dealer brokerage and financial services company from March 2016 to May 2017.
Troy earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from DePaul University, majoring in Finance and a MBA in Finance from Roosevelt University. Troy was named one of DePaul’s outstanding alumni under 40 in 2014 and currently serves on the Finance Advisory Board and ASK Advisory Board at DePaul.

Daniel Rea directs the firm’s corporate development efforts and conducts investment strategy oversight. Mr. Rea is responsible for corporate strategy, new product development, and acquisitions. He also reviews portfolio characteristics to confirm consistency with stated objectives and evaluates absolute and relative investment performance.
Mr. Rea began his career in corporate finance in the Financial Management Program (FMP) at GE Capital Corporation. He joined Driehaus Capital Management in 1997 as a domestic research analyst and was promoted to portfolio manager in 1998. In 2000, Mr. Rea joined BlackRock where he was a senior equity analyst and portfolio manager on it Global Opportunities Team. In 2005, he joined Franklin Templeton Investments as a senior equity analyst and healthcare sector leader on its Global Large Cap Growth Team. He rejoined Driehaus in 2006 and was a portfolio manager on several international and global growth strategies. Mr. Rea also served as the firm’s Director of Research form 2006 to 2017. He received his B.S. in accountancy from Marquette University in 1995.

Sheila A. Weinberg, CPA, is the founder and CEO of Truth in Accounting, whose mission is to compel governments to produce financial reports that are understandable, reliable, transparent and correct. Since 2002 Ms. Weinberg has led Truth in Accounting's research initiatives, which include "The Truth about Balanced Budgets: a Fifty State Study," the "Financial State of the States," and the "Financial State of the Union." Because of her expertise in governmental budgeting and accounting, Ms. Weinberg has testified before the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB), the Government Accounting Standards Board, and numerous state legislative hearings on matters of proper government accounting.
Ms. Weinberg earned her Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Denver, which she attended on an academic scholarship. She received her certified public accountant (CPA) credential in 1981. Ms. Weinberg was active in the Concord Coalition from its inception in 1992, and was honored in 1998 with their Outstanding Volunteer Award.
Ms. Weinberg is a member of the Association of Government Accountants' Financial Management Standards Board, the University of Denver's School of Accountancy Advisory Board, and is a member of the Union League Club of Chicago's Public Affairs Committee. She has served as an independent legislative adviser to members of Congress on federal budgeting and accounting issues. She was also a member of the Comeback America Initiative Advisory Council, the Academy of Government Accountability Advisory Council and two FASAB Task Forces. Her commentary on the federal budget, Social Security, Medicare and other national issues has appeared repeatedly in numerous publications, including USA Today, Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times. She has been a guest on local and national television and radio shows, and is often engaged to speak on federal and state budget and accounting issues.

Speakers talked about the differences between free based trading such as Robinhood and fee based trading. The panelists also talked about TD Ameritrade paper money allowing individuals to test their investment strategies risk free. Students had the opportunity to ask questions throughout the discussion and afterwards.
SFA held a resume workshop event on Wednesday, March 7th in the DePaul Center DePaul Club room.
During this workshop, we presented on the importance of having a well crafted resume. Then after the group presentation, we got together with members in smaller group settings to explain more in-depth certain aspects of resumes as well as answering some questions for members about their own resumes.
DePaul SFA is pleased to welcome Ms. Bushra Shama, Financial Analyst at JP Morgan on Wednesday, February 21st from 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm in the DePaul Center North Cafe on the 11th floor.
Bushra Shams is a Financial Analyst in JP Morgan's Global Finance & Business Management Program. Her current rotation is in Treasury Services which is a major product line of business. Her previous rotation was in Corporate Client Banking which is a sub line of business under the Commercial Bank. Clients are corporations that produce between $500 million to $2 billion in revenue. They range from public to large private entities that require traditional commercial banking and sophisticated investment banking products.
Previously Bushra was an Investments Operations intern at Guggenheim Partners where she worked on projects with sub teams in strategic initiatives, data analytics, onboarding, trade operations, and credit servicing.
Student Finance Association kicked off the Winter quarter by holding a general body meeting on Wednesday, January 24th. Students were able to meet the board, learn more about the organization, and network with fellow students to hear about their internship experiences. Information was given on the four open board positions as we will be going through interviews and transitioning the 2018-19 board around the end of this quarter.
