Daniel Rea directs the firm’s corporate development efforts and conducts investment strategy oversight. Mr. Rea is responsible for corporate strategy, new product development, and acquisitions. He also reviews portfolio characteristics to confirm consistency with stated objectives and evaluates absolute and relative investment performance.
Mr. Rea began his career in corporate finance in the Financial Management Program (FMP) at GE Capital Corporation. He joined Driehaus Capital Management in 1997 as a domestic research analyst and was promoted to portfolio manager in 1998. In 2000, Mr. Rea joined BlackRock where he was a senior equity analyst and portfolio manager on it Global Opportunities Team. In 2005, he joined Franklin Templeton Investments as a senior equity analyst and healthcare sector leader on its Global Large Cap Growth Team. He rejoined Driehaus in 2006 and was a portfolio manager on several international and global growth strategies. Mr. Rea also served as the firm’s Director of Research form 2006 to 2017. He received his B.S. in accountancy from Marquette University in 1995.

Sheila A. Weinberg, CPA, is the founder and CEO of Truth in Accounting, whose mission is to compel governments to produce financial reports that are understandable, reliable, transparent and correct. Since 2002 Ms. Weinberg has led Truth in Accounting's research initiatives, which include "The Truth about Balanced Budgets: a Fifty State Study," the "Financial State of the States," and the "Financial State of the Union." Because of her expertise in governmental budgeting and accounting, Ms. Weinberg has testified before the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB), the Government Accounting Standards Board, and numerous state legislative hearings on matters of proper government accounting.
Ms. Weinberg earned her Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Denver, which she attended on an academic scholarship. She received her certified public accountant (CPA) credential in 1981. Ms. Weinberg was active in the Concord Coalition from its inception in 1992, and was honored in 1998 with their Outstanding Volunteer Award.
Ms. Weinberg is a member of the Association of Government Accountants' Financial Management Standards Board, the University of Denver's School of Accountancy Advisory Board, and is a member of the Union League Club of Chicago's Public Affairs Committee. She has served as an independent legislative adviser to members of Congress on federal budgeting and accounting issues. She was also a member of the Comeback America Initiative Advisory Council, the Academy of Government Accountability Advisory Council and two FASAB Task Forces. Her commentary on the federal budget, Social Security, Medicare and other national issues has appeared repeatedly in numerous publications, including USA Today, Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times. She has been a guest on local and national television and radio shows, and is often engaged to speak on federal and state budget and accounting issues.
DePaul SFA was pleased to welcome panelists from TD Ameritrade on Wednesday, April 11th from 4:45 - 5:45 in the DePaul Center DePaul Club on the 11th floor.

Speakers talked about the differences between free based trading such as Robinhood and fee based trading. The panelists also talked about TD Ameritrade paper money allowing individuals to test their investment strategies risk free. Students had the opportunity to ask questions throughout the discussion and afterwards.
SFA held a resume workshop event on Wednesday, March 7th in the DePaul Center DePaul Club room.
During this workshop, we presented on the importance of having a well crafted resume. Then after the group presentation, we got together with members in smaller group settings to explain more in-depth certain aspects of resumes as well as answering some questions for members about their own resumes.
DePaul SFA is pleased to welcome Ms. Bushra Shama, Financial Analyst at JP Morgan on Wednesday, February 21st from 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm in the DePaul Center North Cafe on the 11th floor.
Bushra Shams is a Financial Analyst in JP Morgan's Global Finance & Business Management Program. Her current rotation is in Treasury Services which is a major product line of business. Her previous rotation was in Corporate Client Banking which is a sub line of business under the Commercial Bank. Clients are corporations that produce between $500 million to $2 billion in revenue. They range from public to large private entities that require traditional commercial banking and sophisticated investment banking products.
Previously Bushra was an Investments Operations intern at Guggenheim Partners where she worked on projects with sub teams in strategic initiatives, data analytics, onboarding, trade operations, and credit servicing.
Student Finance Association kicked off the Winter quarter by holding a general body meeting on Wednesday, January 24th. Students were able to meet the board, learn more about the organization, and network with fellow students to hear about their internship experiences. Information was given on the four open board positions as we will be going through interviews and transitioning the 2018-19 board around the end of this quarter.

DePaul SFA's event featured Ms. Morgan Olenski, Trade Operations Analyst at Guggenheim Partners on Wednesday, September 27 at 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm in the DePaul Center, Room 8012.
During her presentation, Morgan discussed her career path and current position at Guggenheim. She also talked about her journey at DePaul and her role at Guggenheim. After her presentation, Morgan was available for a brief Q&A.
Morgan Olenski is currently an analyst of Trade Operations at Guggenheim Partners as well as an Associate Board Member of Holiday Heroes. As an analyst at Guggenheim, her tasks are within the trading desk, counter parties, clients, and custodians to facilitate trade confirmations and settlements for repo, equities, and fixed income trades. While working at Guggenheim, Morgan is Chief Strategy Officer of Endurata, a real time tracking app for endurance races. Before her analyst role at Guggenheim she was an intern within the Operations team. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from DePaul University, majoring in Finance while being well involved within many organizations on campus.
DePaul SFA's kick-off event for the 2017-18 academic year featured Mr. Troy Kane, Senior Director of Financial and OTC Products at CME Group. The event was on Wednesday, September 20 at 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm in the DePaul Center, DePaul Club Room (11th floor near the Cafeteria).
During his presentation, Troy discussed his career path and current position at CME. He also talked about the ASK program at DePaul and networking skills. After his presentation, Troy was available for a brief Q&A.
Troy Kane is currently the Senior Director of Financial and OTC Products at CME Group as well as a DePaul Adjunct Professor and alumni. He has over 20 years of experience in the commodity and financial derivatives industry. Prior to CME Group, Troy worked as Global Head of Algorithmic Client Development & Strategy at BGC Partners, an international inter-dealer brokerage and financial services company. Troy previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Eagle Seven, a privately held, globally positioned algorithmic trading firm from 2013 to 2015. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from DePaul University, majoring in Finance and Economics, with a minor in Political Science and a MBA in Finance and Applied Economics from Roosevelt University.
